So, this was the junior's dorm. Amber walked inside the empty dorm room, which smelled strongly of Pine Sol. Each bed was neatly made, and the dressers looked as if they had just been polished. Amber grinned to herself, there was no way the room would stay in it's current state. Her fingers wrapped firmly around the handle of her suitcase, Amber dragged it towards a bed on the far side of the dorm. The wheels of the trunk clunked and scratched against the hardwood floor as Amber rolled it next to a bed across from the window. With one, mighty heave, she hoisted the suitcase onto her mattress.
Amber exhaled slowly. She reached forward and opened her trunk, revealing a mis-matched jumble of stripes and polka dots and neon colors. Grinning, Amber began to unpack. She loved her peculiar taste in clothes, their boldness made up for her shy personality. Swiftly, she started stuffing her t-shirts into the dresser while humming 'Hold on Tightly, Let Go Lightly' by Boys Night Out.

Alecia had been the first girl to settle herself into the Juniors dorm. She'd claimed her bed, one in the corner just below a beautiful bay window, perfect for her to sit in and write. She'd unpacked her suitcase right away; she was sure that had she not done it right away, she'd probably never have gotten to it. Once all was settled and in place, she layed down on her stomach on her bed, notebook out, listening to her Remy Zero CD quietly. It was quite a while that she spent in there alone, until finally another occupant of the room showed up.
Leci smiled as she looked over at Amber across the room from her, unpacking her things as she herself had already done. She recognised Amber right away-- they'd been in the same dorm last year. But she'd never really met the girl, so she figured she'd change that now.
Sitting up some on her bed, she propped herself up on her elbows and looked over at Amber, taking her headphones off and setting them on her bed. "Heya!" she said in her thick Southern drawl, smiling amicably to her new roomate.

Amber dropped the t-shirt she was holding back into her suitcase at the sound of the voice. Turning her head to the side, she looked over at Leci, her face sporting a small, shy smile. Amber recognized Leci immediatly, her thick accent and her brunette hair were as prominent as ever. Turning so her entire body faced Leci, Amber began a reply.
"Hallo," She began, the French accent she had acquired from her childhood in Paris still lingering in her voice, "It's Leci, right?"

Leci smiled, nodding at Amber. "That's me." She put her hands down on her bed once again and pushed herself up until she was sitting on her bed, legs folded Indian-style underneath her. "And you're Amber, yeah?" she half-asked, for she already knew she was correct in her inquiry. She'd always found Amber to be fascinating; she'd heard somewhere that the girl was of French heritage, and that she spoke it fluently. Leci, who until coming to Danwood had never set foot out of Charlotte, simply admired that exciting lifestyle.

Amber reached for the t-shirt she had dropped before talking to Leci and refolded it carefully. As she placed the shirt in her drawer, she nodded a reply.
"Yes," She said and she smoothed the wrinkles out of the cotton tee. "The junior dorm looks much nicer the the sophomore one, no?"

Leci's smile grew a bit wider upon hearing Amber say "no", and she nodded to the girl, tucking some hair behind her ear. "Yeah, that's for dang sure. We actually got a bathroom in our dorm, instead of down the hall! I'd call that an upgrade." She laughed, leaning over to put her notebook on her nighstand. "Did y'all just get here, or have you been here a while...?" she asked, watching Amber unpack.

Amber continued to stuff her belongings into secluded places, without any order whatso ever. Pushing her long, dark hair away from her eyes with one swoop of her hand, Amber glanced over at Leci to make eye contact. Amber had always felt eye contact was crutical in any conversation. It gave it a more personal touch.
"Oh, I came just recently," Amber explained, "Didn't vant to carry zis suitcase with me everywhere. I've got my life in 'ere."

Leci smiled, nodding as she listened to Amber speak. What a lovely voice she had! It made Leci feel a bit obsolete, what with the thick, rugged accent she herself spoke in. "Ah, I see. Yeah, I s'pose that does make since. I wouldn't wanna go on carryin' all my stuff around either!" She laughed a bit, glancing out the bay window, then looked back over at Amber. "You excited for the new year to start, then, Amber?" she asked, tilting her head to the side slightly as she looked over at the girl.

Amber gave a neutral shrug as she stuffed the remainer of her clothes into the empty spaces of her drawers. "I guess," She began, "Actually, zee whole reason I like coming back to Danvood is to get avay from my sisters. Zey are such a pain sometimes."

Leci furrowed her brows a bit at Amber's response, still watching her as she unpacked. "Yeah? How so? I've only got an older brother-- I know what a pain he can be, but I bet it's not the same as sisters..." She paused, noticing that she was rambling. Smiling a bit, she shook her head, focusing her attention once more. "What are they like?"

Amber kept unpacking as she spoke, the bottom of her suitcase was now quiet visable. "Jealous, mostly," Amber told her, "I don't know vhy though. Eet's not like I try to be smart or anything. I can't 'elp it. But zey are convinced zat I overachieve just to put zem in a shadow."

Leci nodded a bit, frowning very slightly. "Well, that's too bad... How old are they?" she asked, raising a brow at Amber as she twirled a bit of her hair in her fingers.

Closing her emptied suitcase, a sense of accomplishment lingering in the back of her mind, Amber let out a satisfied sigh. She slipped the considerably lighter trunk under her bed and sat herself down on the mattress, wrinkling the comforter a little bit. "Zey are 15 and 13. Younger. 'Ow old is your brother?"

Leci smiled, pulling her hair back into a pony tail using the rubber band she always carried on her right wrist. "He's almost twenty. I miss him like crazy," she said with a slight chuckle, shrugging some. She and her brother had always had a wonderful relationship; they were the best of friends, always had been, and it pained her to be away from him.

Amber allowed her mind to wander slightly, wondering how different her life would have been if her relationship with her sisters was stronger. Amber almost dwelled on the idea that they would both grow out of their 'jealous-of-Amber' phase. Amber blinked, returning her thoughts to the current time.
"Eet is 'ard sometimes to be 'ere all year long." Amber agreed.
